Hey guys, how do you reduce the buzzz in snare wires when hitting the snare drum? I’m trying to find out how to make the snare sound dry/fat but still has the snare wires mounted on.   I’ve tried putting alot of tape on the batter head and loosening the tension but it doesn’t work best for me. What do you think are other strategies? Like adjusting the reso head or something I’ve never heard of.

    More than likely, some of the springs have been stretched farther than the rest. Clean sound depends on all the springs being uniform.   take the wires off completely from the snare un-tighten the snare tighteners and then put then back on then tighten the snare until you cant hear any buzz thats what i did

      I normally don’t use much in the way of dampening, even for rock (other than kick drum). I try to work at tuning them as evenly as possible to eliminate unwanted overtones, which is usually the ring we complain about.
